I've been experimenting with diffuser blends for years now, and every once in a while I stumble onto a combination that stops me in my tracks. This is one of those blends. I call it The Clean House Blend — and once you try it, you'll understand why.

The Recipe

Equal parts of each:

🍋Grapefruit essential oil

🌲Siberian Fir essential oil

🌿Spearmint essential oil

Suggested starting point: 3 -6 drops of each in your diffuser.

Adjust to your preference — more Grapefruit for brightness,

more Fir for depth, more Spearmint for a cool, fresh finish.

Let's Talk About What's In It

🍋Grapefruit

Grapefruit is one of those oils that immediately lifts the energy in a room. It's bright, juicy, and uplifting, the kind of scent that makes you want to open the windows and get things done. It's also one of my personal favorites for a mood boost on a slow morning. In this blend, it's the star of the show, the first thing you notice, and the note that gives the whole blend its clean, citrusy freshness.

🌲Siberian Fir

If Grapefruit is the brightness, Siberian Fir is the grounding. It brings a soft, woodsy depth to the blend that keeps it from feeling too sharp or clinical. Think of it as that 'fresh air in the forest' quality — clean and natural without being overwhelming. It's also what makes this blend feel sophisticated rather than just citrusy.

🌿Spearmint

Spearmint is the secret weapon in this blend. It ties everything together with a cool, fresh finish that's lighter and sweeter than Peppermint. It enhances the brightness of the Grapefruit and softens the earthiness of the Fir — and the result is something that smells genuinely clean. Not artificially fresh, not overwhelming, just... like a room full of good air.

So What Does It Actually Smell Like?

The best way I can describe The Clean House Blend is this: imagine you just opened all the windows on a perfect spring morning. The air is crisp, there's a hint of citrus and green outside, and everything just feels... fresh and right.

Is It an Anthropologie Dupe?

You might have seen this blend floating around online described as similar to the Anthropologie store scent — which is actually the famous Capri Blue Volcano candle. And here's my honest take after doing a little research: it's not really a dupe.

Volcano leans sweet and tropical — think sugared citrus, mango, pineapple. The Clean House Blend shares the citrus and green notes, but it goes in a completely different direction from there. It's fresher, crisper, and more spa-like. More 'I cleaned my house with natural products and now it smells amazing' and less 'I'm on a tropical island.'

Honestly? I think it's better. And I say that as someone who loves a good CLEAN, non-toxic candle. 🕯️

The Clean House Blend is its own thing — and it deserves to be called that.

A Few Tips for Getting It Just Right

• Start with 3 drops of each and adjust from there. More Grapefruit = brighter and more citrusy. More Fir = deeper and more woodsy. More Spearmint = cooler and crisper.

• This blend works beautifully in any size diffuser, but I especially love it in larger spaces where you want the scent to carry.

• Try it first thing in the morning — it's energizing without being jarring, and it sets such a good tone for the day.

• It layers beautifully with natural light. If you can, run your diffuser near a window on a sunny day. I have no scientific explanation for this, it just feels right. 😄
